How to convert a PDF to Word
Select the trade-off that fits what you plan to do with the Word file.
- Open the PDFChoose a valid PDF from this device.
- Choose editable or visualEditable mode reconstructs text; visual mode places page images in Word.
- Convert and reviewDownload the DOCX and review layout, typography, and any visual pages.
Choose the right PDF to Word mode
- Should I choose editable or visual Word?
- Choose editable mode when you need to rewrite text. Choose visual mode when preserving the appearance of each PDF page matters more than selecting or changing its text.
- Can a scanned PDF become an editable Word document?
- Not automatically. Pages without a usable text layer are inserted visually in the DOCX because VixPDF does not run OCR yet.
- Why can the layout change after conversion?
- PDF stores positioned page elements, while Word rebuilds a flowing document. Columns, tables, forms, spacing, and unavailable fonts can therefore move in editable mode.
